The Gate Lane Printer form enables you to add and edit a gate lane printer to print the gate documents for the truck using the selected gate lane. In addition, you can associate each gate lane printer with a gate document type. You can associate multiple document types with a gate lane printer and multiple printers with a gate lane.

For example, if you associate a printer with the Trouble lane and trouble ticket document type, all trouble tickets will automatically be printed using the selected gate lane printer. Similarly, you can require that all Reefer tickets are printed at a booth rather than at the pedestal in the gate lane.

If a document type is associated with more than one printer, the gate lane printer has the highest preference. If you do not associate a document type with a gate lane printer, the printer is used to print all gate documents for the selected gate lane.

To add or edit a gate lane printer and associate a document type:

  1. From the Lane Printer drop-down, select a printer ID.

The drop-down list displays the printers configured at the current scope level. To add a new printer, see Printer form (on page 1).

  1. Optionally, from the Document Type drop-down list, select a document type such as EIR, pick-up ticket, or drop-off ticket to associate with the gate lane printer.

The drop-down list displays the document types defined at the current scope level. To add a new document type, see Document form (on page 1).

  1. Click Save.
